چکیده

Abstract Structure collapse, on the other hand, is a very complicated phenomenon involving considerable nonlinearity and variety of mechanical interactions. It should be thoroughly examined through experiments numerical simulations to prevent occurrence from occurring. When initial local failure small portion structure takes place it leads spread that damage neighbor elements in chain reaction manner. Finally, collapse place. This known as Progressive collapse. progressive when vertical load carrying members such columns failed due manmade or natural accidental loads. Therefore this study analysis building carried by removing columns. In different column removal cases are considered. As per GSA guidelines, Demand Capacity ratio(DCR) beams calculated. From DCR value Evaluate stability against present “T”shape considered which consists 11 storey with bay sizes 4 meter X Y direction, height every 3 meters plinth floor assumed 3.5 meters. The measurements fixed throughout storey, but dimensions decrease rises, therefore have geometrical irregularity. loading calculated accordance G.S.A guidelines. design was created using ETABS software I.S 456-2000 code. Different parameters Demand-capacity ratio, Dynamic factor, Interaction Axial Force, Bending moment discussed.

A Review on Progressive Collapse of Building Structures

Progressive collapse of building structures is generally triggered by a local failure due to accidental actions, followed by subsequent chain effect of the structures which may result in wide range failure or even collapse of the entire buildings. Since the “911” event, progressive collapse of building structures has been widely concerned by engineers and researchers. This paper assesses the cu...

Best Practices Guidelines For Mitigation of Building Progressive Collapse

This paper presents current design approaches found in the U.S. and European building codes and standards for the prevention of progressive collapse due to abnormal loading. Because the definition of abnormal loading is not well established, design provisions are based on an approach that protects buildings by means of strength, ductility and redundancy. The effectiveness of seismic detailing o...

Analysis Procedures For Progressive Collapse of Buildings

This paper presents simple analytical approaches for evaluating progressive collapse potential of lowand mid-rise buildings that could be used in routine design by design professionals. Although nonlinear time history analysis would be more realistic in representing progressive collapse phenomenon, high fidelity structural models to represent nonlinear structural behavior are required to produc...

Development of integrated system for progressive collapse analysis of building structures considering dynamic effects

In this study the integrated system for progressive collapse analysis, which can evaluate the damage level of every member and automatically construct the modified structural model for the next analysis step, has been developed. The existing nonlinear analysis program code OpenSees was used as a finite element solver in the integrated system for progressive collapse analysis. The developed inte...
